This week in Canadian grants: $30,000,000 opens now — and another $30,000,000 closes Oct 23

The biggest move this week is a new rolling $30,000,000 capital-maintenance fund, with a separate $30,000,000 youth placements opportunity closing tomorrow.

The best thing in this week’s funding window: a new rolling $30,000,000 opportunity is live now through Stream 2: Capital maintenance – Maintain existing capital and operations.

Stream 2: Capital maintenance – Maintain existing capital and operations — Up to $30,000,000. Open on a rolling basis. Best fit for Canadian businesses affected by new U.S. Section 338 tariffs that need help maintaining existing capital and operations, including repairs, replacements, and restoration of equipment and buildings.

Team Canada Strong Youth Placements - contribution funding program - Expression of Interest (EOI) — Up to $30,000,000. Deadline 2026-10-23. A big, urgent federal opportunity for projects that provide youth aged 15 to 30 with paid, entry-level work placements in construction and trades-related occupations.

Food-Link Fund: Food Hub Program — Up to $25,000,000. Deadline 2026-12-11. Worth a look for organizations investing in regional food infrastructure, equipment, and logistics capacity that connect local producers to markets.

Union Training and Innovation Program – Infrastructure Expansion — Up to $10,000,000. Deadline 2026-11-12. A strong option for union-led projects that expand training capacity or modernize training infrastructure for skilled trades.

Community Development Fund — Up to $6,000,000. Open on a rolling basis. Useful for New Brunswick community capital projects, tourism- and recreation-related facility development, and municipally led initiatives.

Closing this week

Closing soon: 38 grants are due this week, led by a $30,000,000 youth placements opportunity on 2026-10-23 and a $5,000,000 DND/CAF call on 2026-10-29.

Just closed: OMIF – Live Music, Mary Victoria Wakefield Animal Welfare Grants, Share (Dissemination Grant), Learn (Professional Development Grant), and PEI Arts Grants Funding all closed last week; several are recurring programs, so they’re worth keeping on your radar.
